I don’t know if it frowned upon to remove the tags but if I had to offer my own theory as to why tags are important, I’d give you the example of Beanie Babies. Beanie Babies tags were crucial to retaining their value! Even damage to the tag would diminish the value and there were even speical holders for the tag so it wouldn’t bend!
Broken or missing tags gives us insight as to how the plushie was treated. It was played with, maybe roughly and the owner didn’t care for it as much. I think the tag are more important on bigger Arpakasso than small ones. The tag also lets us know what series it’s from, when it was created and it isn’t a conterfeit.
